For the past 17 years working as burn surgeon and treating burn patients and those with complex surgical wounds (eg. NSTI), it has never escaped me that the biggest foe remains infectious complications. I have a strong interest in not only the clinical treatment but also in better understanding the need to improve the care through research. By becoming a member of SIS, I aim to broaden my knowledge base, collaborative with like-minded individuals, and stay on the cusp of latest advancements in the field. I hope that active involvement in SIS will not only enhance my clinical and research acumen, but also contribute to improving patient outcomes and advancing the collective understanding of infectious disease within the surgical population.
